Would you like to try fresh handmade soba?
It's a great opportunity for beginners to experience soba making in a casual atmosphere.
Drop by while you stay in Tokyo Asakusa area!
The most fun part is slicing the folded dough to thin soba noodles with long rectangular-shaped knife.
You're going to use a guide board to cut the even thickness.
This workshop is for anyone who has never tried to make soba noodles. It's one of traditional Japanese cooking.
It's a Fun & Unique Experience from scratch!
Why don't you join us and to cook and eat it together?
At Asakusa communication house there are several different types of soba making tools.
Great flavor and texture!
Soba noodles have been popular in Japan from ancient times.
The long soba noodles represent long life.
It is really interesting to watch how buckwheat flour is turning into dough like a ball after you add water little by little to it and mix it with your hands.
After that, you press the dough with a rolling pin and cut it into thin stripes you like.
You can expect that noodles made by yourself are amazing!
You can slurp them up with a loud "Zoo!", that makes it taste and smell even better. In Japan, it is said that's the proper way.
Hope we'll have a peaceful and enjoyable time together.

■Participants opinions
I was invited by Take to participate in his cooking session. Take was an excelent teacher, showing everything in great detail. The fact that we made our dinner our selfs, the cosy atmosphere and the kindness of the host, that made this dinner a truly amazing shared expirience.

・This is the first time I've learned how to make soba.
It was a really nice experience.
Take explained in detail the procedures of soba-making and it was great fun!
It's not easy to taste home-made soba nowadays but thanks to the workshop,
I'm a part of the cuisine I enjoyed later and it felt amazing!
Making soba is an art, same as many other aspects of life that we used to regard as "ordinary".
Definitely enjoyed it!

・A great way to learn the method of making soba.
I have been wanting to learn making Japanese food.
Take-san, the host, is knowledgeable in the method and guides well.
I was late to the party but he was kind enough to explain the steps that I missed once more.
I find that making soba is an art by itself and detail steps need to be followed carefully.
It was certainly a fun afternoon! Thank you Take-san!
